What this team is
A middle-of-the-league roster with specific, nameable strengths and one problem it cannot hide. The face of it is Chris Olave (WR, 89).
Reality check: Shough threw for 278 yards in Paris — and New Orleans still lost 16-10 to Pittsburgh, rushed for 18 yards as a team, and fell to 2-5. The defense (27.7 points a game) is no longer the league's worst, mostly because Arizona exists. The volume is real. So is the ceiling.
Offense
Chris Olave (WR, 89) is the headliner. 95 catching — hands you never worry about; 94 acceleration — zero to full speed in a blink — the first three steps are already gone. Game-planning against this team starts with him and works backward.
Tyler Shough (81) at quarterback is serviceable rather than special; the stars around him are asked to make him right.
Defense
Chase Young (LE, 88) sets the terms. 90 finesse moves — wins with bend and hands — the finesse half of a rush; 88 tackling — does not miss in the open field. On a defense this thin, he is less a centerpiece than a life raft — offenses go everywhere else first.
Zoom out and it gets worse — a bottom-four defense by the ratings. This is the group other teams quietly request for homecoming.
Special teams
Daniel Carlson (77) kicks — 95 leg, 83 accuracy. Ryan Wright (75) punts — 92 leg, 83 accuracy. The return game has a genuine weapon: Barion Brown (85 return, 92 speed).
Hidden gems
Offense: Bryce Lance (WR, 70 OVR). Read the ratings page twice: the overall says 70, the speed says 94. Overall is about the whole job; that speed is about one job, and he can already do that one as well as most starters.
Defense: Lorenzo Styles Jr (SS, 66 OVR) — a 97 speed buried at 66 overall. Speed is the one trait that plays at any overall — it travels to any package, any formation, any Sunday.
Built from EA's Week 7 roster update: the headliners are each side's highest-rated players, trait callouts are their actual top ratings, and league ranks compare all 32 starting units in the same file. A gem is a non-starter (85 OVR or under) carrying at least one elite trait of 92+.
