Light box
Fewer defenders near the line
A defensive box (the area around the line of scrimmage) with six or fewer defenders — usually because the defense is playing two-high safeties. Light boxes invite the run.
When it applies
Two-high shells like Fangio's live in light boxes by design.
+ StrengthsFor the offense: easy math to run against. For the defense: extra deep help.
− Trade-offsSomeone has to win 1-on-1 in the run game or it gets gashed.
