Inside zone
Zone blocking, downhill cuts
Linemen zone-step playside and combo to the second level; the back reads the flow and cuts off the first defender who shows. Everyone is blocked, nobody is left for the linebackers on purpose — the back's read handles it.
When it applies
Core run against almost any front; pairs with bootleg play-action off the same look.
+ StrengthsWorks against odd and even fronts; the cutback lane is always alive; easy RPO tags off it.
− Trade-offsNeeds a patient back with vision; penetration blows it up — one lost lineman kills the read.
