Duo

Power without a puller

Power's downhill attitude with nobody pulling: the line builds two double-teams at the point of attack, and the back reads the playside linebacker — whichever gap the linebacker refuses is the gap the back takes. The double-teams do the pulling guard's job by simply moving the line of scrimmage.

When it applies

Against odd fronts and light boxes when you want to move the line of scrimmage.

+ StrengthsCreates real displacement; simple rules; great play-action launch point.
− Trade-offsNeeds maulers inside; less misdirection than power or counter, so safeties can trigger fast.
