Creeper
Replacement pressure — pressure from the second level
A non-traditional rusher — an off-ball linebacker or slot corner — rushes while a defensive end drops into coverage, keeping the rush at four. No blitz picture is required: the defense can look completely normal pre-snap. Where simulated pressure is about the pre-snap show, the creeper is about who rushes and who drops.
When it applies
Against quarterbacks who diagnose blitz pictures well — this threat never shows itself.
+ StrengthsPressure without a tell; the dropped end steals the hot route the quarterback expects to find open.
− Trade-offsA lineman in coverage is still a lineman in coverage if the quarterback finds him.
